UNIFI MOBILE OFFERS 30K FREE SIM CARDS FOR MALAYSIAN PILGRIMS FULFILLING THEIR HAJJ
KUALA LUMPUR, 9 MAY 2024 – Unifi Mobile is offering free prepaid SIM cards to 30,000 pilgrims as well as Tabung Haji staff and volunteers for the 2024 Hajj season. This initiative is part of the Sahabat Korporat TH 2024 programme, through which TM supports Tabung Haji via connectivity and digital value-added services for pilgrims fulfilling their spiritual obligations.
Through this programme, those performing the Hajj in 2024 are eligible to receive the Unifi Mobile SIM card as part of its Middle East Pass offering. These cards will be made available during the various Hajj courses organised by Tabung Haji and at Unifi Stores nationwide, prior to the Hajj season.

Unifi Mobile’s customised Middle East Pass offering will include various unlimited data plans for customers to choose from to suit their connectivity needs while performing Hajj, ranging from 1-day passes priced at RM15 to 45-day passes* priced at RM125.

More than 300 local entrepreneurs at Pekan Rabu are set to move to the next level in digitalisation with the availability of 800Mbps unifi connectivity through collaboration with Koperasi Pekan Rabu. Commenting on the programme, Imri said: "The pandemic has changed our lifestyle and accelerated digital adoption among the communities and businesses. We are excited to join hands with Kedah State Government and Koperasi Pekan Rabu to provide one (1) year free high speed WiFi connection of 800Mbps at Pekan Rabu. We hope this can boost the digital journey of business communities there and enable the entrepreneurs to further enhance their businesses with digital solutions. We will also upskill the Pekan Rabu entrepreneurs with training sessions on digital applications such as our cari@unifi digital marketing platform and Instaweb for website building." Tune Protect enters partnership with Huawei Malaysia and TM
FIRST TO HOST THE INSURANCE CORE SYSTEM ON TM’S PUBLIC CLOUD IN MALAYSIA Tune Protect Malaysia (Tune Protect), Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) and Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) announced a collaboration today for Tune Protect to re-platform its existing GIS (General Insurance System), an insurance core system on Cloud. The hosting of Tune Protect’s core insurance system on Cloud is the first for insurers in Malaysia as it progresses in its digital transformation. The core system comes with a set of SAP HANA and SAP applications that will be completely hosted in TM Cloud αEdge (pronounced as Cloud Alpha Edge) which provides multi-cloud deployment management platform, scalability reliance and trust . This pivotal move is part of Tune Protect’s Cloud First strategy , and in line with current market demand. Works are currently underway for the core insurance system to be deployed in multiple phases commencing July 2022. TM extends ‘JASA Pack’ unifi mobile plan to all PDRM officers & staff to support their digital lifestyle
