TM ONE-USIM COLLABORATION TO ENHANCE UNIVERSITY’S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND IMPROVE DIGITAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES
TM One, the business-to-business arm of TM, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) for a strategic partnership to enhance the university’s digital transformation and improve student experiences in digital learning.
Officiated on 6 March, the MOU was signed by Professor Dato’ Dr. Sharifudin Md. Shaarani, Vice Chancellor of USIM and Shazurawati Abd Karim, Executive Vice President, TM One.
To support USIM’s smart innovation journey, the partnership will be anchored on three (3) pillars, namely: the co-creation of an innovation ecosystem, talent development, and the sharing of insights on higher education and business trends – with the goal of developing USIM into a smart university.
Developing these pillars will allow USIM to pave its way towards a more seamless digital learning experience and improve its student experience processes. This includes online examinations, IT integration, security of sensitive data and intellectual property, smart solutions on campus, and end-to-end mobility solutions. Most importantly, this partnership will enable a more collaborative learning approach between USIM’s faculty and students, aligning the university to the needs of today’s global learners.
Professor Dato’ Dr. Sharifudin said, ”We are pleased to partner TM One in inculcating a data-first and digital-first mindset among our students, faculty and staff, which aligns us with the goals of MyDIGITAL and the Government’s digital aspirations. Through this partnership, we aim to tap into the extensive expertise of TM’s One solutions, services and professional insights to strengthen our technological and IT talent capabilities as we address the evolving needs of digital education. This collaboration comes at a timely and necessary stage of our development and will allow us to springboard to the next phase of our role in empowering future leaders and game-changers.”
Drawing on its broad range of solutions, TM One will support USIM’s digital transformation plan in five (5) different clusters; Smart Governance, Smart Infrastructure, Smart Services, Smart Learning and Smart Lifestyle.

Universities are at a critical turning point where they must embrace digitalisation or risk being left behind. TM collaborates with Bintang Urusjuta for the first digital home in Melaka
Taman Anjung Gapam becomes the first digital home in Melaka with move-in ready unifi and digital home services Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) through its enterprise and public sector business solutions arm, TM ONE and a local property developer, Bintang Urusjuta (M) Sdn Bhd today launched their first Digital Home project in Melaka at Taman Anjung Gapam. The development is the first housing project in Melaka that is ready with various digital home solutions. At the same event, TM ONE and Bintang Urusjuta also signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the appointment of TM ONE as the strategic partner for the deployment of digital home solutions at Taman Anjung Gapam. With the deployment, Taman Anjung Gapam Melaka now has been recognised as the first housing project in Melaka to enjoy the digital home through high-speed broadband connectivity. The agreement was signed by Ahmad Taufek Omar, Chief Executive Officer, TM ONE while Bintang Urusjuta (M) Sdn Bhd was represented by Yeow Ho Lock, its Managing Director. The ceremony was witnessed by YAB Adly Zahari, Chief Minister of Melaka. Also present at the event were YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Communications and Multimedia; YB Kerk Chee Yee, Exco Communication, Multimedia, NGOs, Youth Development and Sports of Melaka; and Tuan Haji Rosli Man, Chairman of TM. Commenting on the latest collaboration, Ahmad Taufek said: "We are proud and excited to be the strategic partner in establishing the first Digital Home in Melaka. With the launch today, Anjung Gapam housing project is now equipped with digital home services through unifi's high-speed broadband connectivity. This digital home services will enable home owners of Anjung Gapam to enjoy high speed internet access, along with other digital services such as unifi TV, Digital Home Hub, Security Warning System, Smart Plug and Sensor Movement through its dedicated digital application. The implementation of this digital home by TM is in line with Malaysia's Digital Nation aspiration. Besides digital homes, TM is also ready to implement other digital solutions such as traffic management system, street light system, city wide surveillance system and parking system." "TM via its innovative and comprehensive products and solutions will continue to lay the foundation for Industrial Revolution 4.0 and rolling out 5G nationwide - serving a more digital society and lifestyle, digital businesses and industry verticals, as well as digital Government. Meanwhile, Yeow Ho Lock said, "The successful establishment of digital home Anjung Gapam, is in-line with the intention of the state government to make Melaka as a Smart City by 2030. In addition, digital home Anjung Gapam helps to raise buyers' standard of living towards a digital lifestyle in line with our slogan "Enriching Lifestyle the Smart Way". Under the MoA, residents of Anjung Gapam will enjoy broadband connectivity at the speed of 30Mbps and above by early November 2019. This offering includes the new 'Pay Nothing' campaign, where all new unifi subscribers will enjoy three (3) months free subscription starting 1 October until 31 December 2019. In Melaka, unifi is currently available in Bandar Melaka, Ayer Keroh, Ayer Molek, Bemban, Bertam, Klebang, Kuala Sg. Baru, Malim, Masjid Tanah, Merlimau, Simpang Ampat, Tangga Batu and Umbai. TM ONE PARTNERS MINISTRY OF EDUCATION TO ELEVATE DIGITAL SKILLS THROUGH TVET PROGRAMS
KUALA LUMPUR, 30 October 2024 – TM One, TM’s enterprise and Government sector business solutions arm, has announced a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education (MOE) to enhance Malaysia’s digital competencies, equipping students and educators from vocational colleges and secondary schools with essential digital skills that align with industry standards. The partnership, which was recently formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MOE’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Division, targets critical areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cybersecurity, and smart agriculture solutions. These initiatives will benefit both students and educators, ensuring Malaysia’s future workforce is ready to meet the demands of the digital economy.
