Request For Proposal (RFP) On Food And Beverage (F&B) Operator At Muzium Telekom, Kuala Lumpur

Yayasan TM (YTM), the foundation arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), today has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking multiple partner organisations to be part of Muzium Telekom Kuala Lumpur Transformation Plan 2022 - 2024.

YTM launched The Muzium Telekom Transformation Plan with the objective to placemake the 94-year-old heritage building as an engaging public space, for education, entertainment and monetisation opportunities.

"We are calling on many experts and practitioners to join forces with us in the spirit of collaboration and creativity, to curate programmes, services, activities or events that can help us to reimagine and transform Muzium Telekom as a placemaking public venue that is vibrant, educational and inclusive to everyone," said Izlyn Ramli, Director of Yayasan TM.

"As the economy has opened up, public spaces and museums are seeing an increasing number of visitors looking for iconic venues and engaging activities. Muzium Telekom's differentiation is through the marriage of technology and arts, where digitalisation plays a significant role, in line with our TM Group vision as a human-centred tech company and the enabler of Digital Malaysia.  YTM will continue its ongoing mission to preserve and celebrate the nation's arts, culture & heritage, as well as supporting community sustainable livelihoods by placemaking Muzium Telekom into an engaging public digital arts space with future-forward immersive museums' exhibits and various community and micro-SME (such as retail and F&B) programmes," she added.

Since 1994, Muzium Telekom also known as Muzium Telekomunikasi Negara, has been showcasing the history and evolution of telecommunications in Malaysia. Befitting the times, YTM aims to reinvigorate this beautiful historic building as an engaging hub that connect the dots across the many facets within the TM Group and beyond, to include the industry and overall ecosystem. Within TM Group, it aims to showcase talents from Multimedia University (MMU) students, alumni and faculty in digital, creative and cinematic arts as well as TM's heritage and innovation in telecommunications. Concurrently, this is extended to the rich ecosystem of collaboration partners in the same fields.

In 2018, YTM launched the Telegraph Museum, Taiping graced by HRH the Sultan Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah. This unique and niche museum features the history of the country's telegraph communications system including its maiden breakthrough in Taiping, Perak and how technology has contributed to the development of the nation.

Both Muzium Telekom Kuala Lumpur and Telegraph Museum Taiping aim to be key resources for students, researchers and the communities to deepen their understanding on the complex telecommunications industry and how it has contributed to both nationbuilding and the world telecommunication history.

YTM is calling for interested parties to participate in two (2) RFPs issued earlier. Details are as follows:

1)    Request For Proposal (RFP) On Food And Beverage (F&B) Operator At Muzium Telekom, Kuala Lumpur

  • YTM is seeking F&B companies who are capable to manage end-to-end F&B outlets' operations at Muzium Telekom KL.

  • The scope will be covering F&B outlets' concept (inclusive design & build), compliance to heritage building guidelines, F&B business model and operations.

  • There are TWO (2) F&B outlets available at Muzium Telekom whereby the interested party can choose to operate F&B outlet 1 that is located at the corner lot in the front of main road or/and F&B outlet 2 which located in the courtyard of museum. These share a common kitchen located next to outlet 2.

2)    Request Of Proposal (RFP) For The Appointment Of Museum Operator (Service Provider) For Muzium Telekom Kuala Lumpur And Telegraph Museum Taiping

  • YTM is seeking proposals from firms / consortiums or  interested  qualified parties with experience in the museums / galleries / arts and culture / tourism or  related  experience industries  to  be  The  Museum  Operator  (Service  Provider)  for  Muzium  Telekom  Kuala  Lumpur  and  Telegraph  Museum  Taiping;  and  implement  The  Muzium   Telekom   Transformation Plan 2022-2024 

  • By the year 2024, YTM hopes to complete the new museum experience built on the theme of "Art & Technology: Future Forward", providing access to a variety of experiences that educate, inspire and engage the public with telecommunication technologies and innovations.

  • The new Muzium Telekom will unveil more than 27,000 sq ft of completely reimagined spaces, including its National Telecommunication Gallery, Digital Art Gallery, Museum Black Box Theater, Museum Cafe & Restaurant, Kids Discovery, Thematic Exhibition Rooms and many more.

Employees of TM at Menara TM One, Damansara and Kepayan, Kota Kinabalu tested positive for Covid-19

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) confirms two (2) positive cases of Covid-19 amongst its employees. One of the affected employees is based at Menara TM One in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur and the other is at its Kepayan office in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Both employees are currently under quarantine and receiving treatment at Government quarantine and medical facilities. TM management and staff are together praying for their speedy recovery. TM has taken proactive measures to mitigate further spread of the virus and keep our customers, staff and communities safe. At Menara TM One, all occupants were immediately evacuated and the office building closed for seven (7) days to facilitate thorough disinfection and sanitisation in accordance to the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health (MoH).  TM offices in Sabah, Kedah and other Red Zone areas had been closed much earlier as proactive precaution in correspondence to the increasing cases recently. Following these two new positive cases, detailed contact tracing is being carried out by the MoH, assisted by TM's COVID-19 Crisis Response Team (CRT), to identify and inform those whom had close contact with the affected employees. Identified close contacts are being contacted by MoH for further advice and action. In ensuring continued services to our customers, TM employees at the affected states and areas have reverted back to Work From Home (WFH) arrangement utilising digital channels and online productivity tools. Meanwhile, critical function employees (contact centre, field teams for service installation and restoration) shall continue working in compliance to Government and TM's added safety protocols and guidelines. TM would like to remind everyone at all times to keep safe social distance, hygiene and adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as advised by the Government. TM has taken and will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the health and safety of our customers, employees and community.

TM Adopts 35 Schools Under Sekolah Angkat Malaysia MADANI, Strengthening Commitment to Nation Building

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 August 2025 – Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM” or “the Group”), through its foundation arm, Yayasan TM (YTM), has strengthened its commitment to nation building by adopting 35 schools under the Government’s Sekolah Angkat Malaysia MADANI initiative. Spanning across the country, particularly in remote and underserved areas, the initiative is driven by the Group’s greater purpose to empower future talents and build a more inclusive future through education and technology. At the heart of this initiative is TM Future Skills (TMFS) programme, designed to enhance digital skills among students from B40 or low-income families by integrating digital technologies into their learning experiences. Under the programme, selected “nucleus” schools will be allocated with a digital hub aiming to spark students’ interest in digital exploration and STEM subjects. These hubs are equipped with resources such as PocketLab, robotics kits, 3D printers, drones, tablets and digital learning content. The 2025 TMFS curriculum has been further enhanced to include artificial intelligence (AI) and coding, aligned with the demands of Industry 4.0 and Malaysia’s future digital talents aspirations. TM Group Chief Executive Officer, Amar Huzaimi Md Deris said, “These schools will not only serve their own students but will also extend support and knowledge-sharing to neighbouring satellite schools. This strategic approach enables us to scale the impact of our efforts and reach far beyond the adopted schools themselves, with an estimated 65,000 students nationwide set to benefit from this initiative. “Since we introduced the TMFS programme in 2023, we have established three “nucleus” schools and positively impacted over 10,000 students and 1,000 teachers. It is our way of ensuring that no one is left behind in Malaysia’s journey towards becoming a digital nation,” said Amar. Meanwhile, outstanding Form 4 and Form 5 students from these schools are also eligible for TM’s Young Leaders Scholarship, which serves as a platform to identify candidates for YTM’s Future Leaders Scholarship, offering full financial aid for tertiary studies. “We have always believed that education is the most powerful way to empower the future. By supporting Sekolah Angkat Malaysia MADANI as part of our nation building agenda, we are nurturing hope, unlocking potential, and investing in the next digital talents for the nation. TM’S PAKEJ PERPADUAN JALUR LEBAR TETAP (HOME INTERNET) AIMS TO DRIVE DIGITAL INCLUSIVITY FOR MALAYSIANS

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) has today announced the launch of its Pakej Perpaduan Jalur Lebar Tetap (Home Internet) for underserved communities in Malaysia, in response to the challenges faced by these key communities in the digital age. The offering is aligned with the Ministry of Communications and Digital’s efforts to address concerns of underserved Malaysians from the B40, the elderly, OKU, and army-police veterans in accessing reliable and affordable internet services.   Following Minister of Communications and Digital, YB Fahmi Fadzil’s announcement today during the launching ceremony in Bakar Arang, Sungai Petani, Kedah, Pakej Perpaduan Jalur Lebar Tetap is now available for subscription nationwide. This collaboration between TM and the Government demonstrates the shared commitment to deliver digital inclusivity throughout Malaysia.   Underserved communities often experience adversity in accessing the benefits of the digital world and uninterrupted connectivity. Students from low-income households, for example, face challenges in accessing online learning platforms, while job seekers may struggle to find employment opportunities or even in starting up small e-Commerce businesses to support their livelihoods. Additionally, a lack of access to digital services and information can limit options for essential services, such as healthcare and Government services. Via this offering, TM seeks to bridge the digital divide through hyperconnectivity and empower these communities with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in the digital age.   “As a conscientious corporate entity, TM has a social responsibility to create a meaningful impact on the community. Unifi’s fixed broadband services will be available at a more affordable rate, ensuring that more Malaysians have access to reliable internet connectivity. Registration is open until 31 December 2023 for all eligible subscribers, but will be limited to only one (1) package per person.   Earlier in March, TM also announced Pakej Perpaduan Prabayar Mudah Alih (Prepaid Mobile) and together, these services will enable ubiquitous connectivity and reinforces TM’s fixed-mobile convergence leadership, offering integrated fixed broadband, mobile services, and digital content to more Malaysians.
