TM One and UMW sign Memorandum of Intent to embark on co-development of digital solutions for industries in Malaysia
TM One, the business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and UMW Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (UMW) today signed a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) on a strategic partnership to develop digital solutions aimed at enhancing and empowering Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) requirements for industries in Malaysia, making it more productive, agile and future-ready.
The MoI was signed by Badrul Feisal bin Abdul Rahim, President & Group Chief Executive Officer, UMW Holdings Berhad on behalf of UMW Corporation Sdn. Bhd. and Dato' Noor Kamarul Anuar bin Nuruddin, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM representing TM One. Also present to witness the ceremony was Tan Sri Dato' Sri Hamad Kama Piah bin Che Othman, Group Chairman, UMW Holdings Berhad and Rosli bin Man, Chairman, TM.
Through this partnership, TM One and UMW will embark on joint research activities to enable the development of a home-grown Industrial IoT (Internet of Things) platform through the integration of UMW's IoT solution on industrial machines with TM One's IoT Software Platform.
"This strategic partnership allows both organisations to further accelerate the implementation of IR4.0. We are now in the era where complementing technological capabilities can help propel businesses to greater heights. UMW is steadfast in its goals to embark on the development of next generation IR4.0 with IoT-enabled industrial solutions. By leveraging on each other's expertise in IoT, we are able to provide innovative products and services to our customers", said Badrul Feisal on the partnership.
Meanwhile, Dato' Noor Kamarul said: "With our solid network infrastructure and digital solutions, TM is ready to assist companies like UMW into Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). UMW and TM One will co-develop an IoT-based digital solutions using respective expertise of the partners; UMW in mechanical machines, IoT sensors and control systems and TM One with its IoT software and analytics. These solutions will be made accessible via the platform's dashboard for UMW's IoT-enabled equipment and machineries such as generators, compressors, pumps, turbines and others which will benefit multiple industries such as Energy and Utilities, Transportation, Real Estate, Commercial and Public Sectors amongst others.
The eventual combined UMW-TM IoT solution will provide remote access to machines through real-time monitoring and management system as well as optimise asset management including fleet management, energy management, utilisation and disaster management.
Through this collaboration, both parties will leverage on each other's strengths to create greater value and support the growth of Malaysia's technological capabilities.

TM ONE AND SARAWAK DIGITAL ECONOMY CORPORATION (SDEC) BERHAD EXTEND COLLABORATION TO SPUR STATE’S DIGITAL ECONOMY
KUALA LUMPUR & KUCHING, 26 DECEMBER 2024 – TM One, TM’s enterprise and government sector solutions arm, and Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC) have announced the next phase in their strategic partnership to elevate Sarawak’s digital economy, digital society, and government services through enhanced connectivity. The parties recently exchanged a master service agreement to expand Sarawak’s digital infrastructure, aimed at enhancing connectivity and accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies and smart services in driving the state’s digital transformation. The collaboration aligns with the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy and Post-COVID Development Strategy 2030. This collaboration includes TM One’s Metro-E solution, a flexible, secure, and high-performance bandwidth connectivity scalable to up to 10 Gbps. Its dedicated access for critical applications, proactive security monitoring and nationwide coverage addresses the service levels needed for enterprises and government agencies alike. JASS smart application from TM one set to empower Johor 4.0 initiatives
New digital platform for Bangsa Johor towards achieving the State’s aspiration of ‘Membina Dekad Baharu’ TM ONE, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) Group, today officially unveiled Johor Application Solution and Services Hub (JASS) smart application towards realising the State Government’s Johor 4.0 initiatives. The unveiling of the smart application took place at the Johor 4.0: Digitalising Bangsa Johor launch event held at the Indoor Arena, EduCity Sports Complex, Nusajaya, Johor. The launching ceremony of Johor 4.0 and unveiling of JASS was graced by YAB Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Chief Minister of Johor. Also present were YB Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Tun Said Keruak, Minister of Communication and Multimedia, Azizi A Hadi, Executive Vice President / Chief Executive Officer, TM ONE and Ahmad Nasri Mohamed, State Vice President, TM Johor.
