TM One and UMW sign Memorandum of Intent to embark on co-development of digital solutions for industries in Malaysia
TM One, the business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and UMW Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (UMW) today signed a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) on a strategic partnership to develop digital solutions aimed at enhancing and empowering Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) requirements for industries in Malaysia, making it more productive, agile and future-ready.
The MoI was signed by Badrul Feisal bin Abdul Rahim, President & Group Chief Executive Officer, UMW Holdings Berhad on behalf of UMW Corporation Sdn. Bhd. and Dato' Noor Kamarul Anuar bin Nuruddin, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM representing TM One. Also present to witness the ceremony was Tan Sri Dato' Sri Hamad Kama Piah bin Che Othman, Group Chairman, UMW Holdings Berhad and Rosli bin Man, Chairman, TM.
Through this partnership, TM One and UMW will embark on joint research activities to enable the development of a home-grown Industrial IoT (Internet of Things) platform through the integration of UMW's IoT solution on industrial machines with TM One's IoT Software Platform.
"This strategic partnership allows both organisations to further accelerate the implementation of IR4.0. We are now in the era where complementing technological capabilities can help propel businesses to greater heights. UMW is steadfast in its goals to embark on the development of next generation IR4.0 with IoT-enabled industrial solutions. By leveraging on each other's expertise in IoT, we are able to provide innovative products and services to our customers", said Badrul Feisal on the partnership.
Meanwhile, Dato' Noor Kamarul said: "With our solid network infrastructure and digital solutions, TM is ready to assist companies like UMW into Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). UMW and TM One will co-develop an IoT-based digital solutions using respective expertise of the partners; UMW in mechanical machines, IoT sensors and control systems and TM One with its IoT software and analytics. These solutions will be made accessible via the platform's dashboard for UMW's IoT-enabled equipment and machineries such as generators, compressors, pumps, turbines and others which will benefit multiple industries such as Energy and Utilities, Transportation, Real Estate, Commercial and Public Sectors amongst others.
The eventual combined UMW-TM IoT solution will provide remote access to machines through real-time monitoring and management system as well as optimise asset management including fleet management, energy management, utilisation and disaster management.
Through this collaboration, both parties will leverage on each other's strengths to create greater value and support the growth of Malaysia's technological capabilities.

TM One becomes the first telco to be certified with international ISO 18295-1:2017 by SIRIM for its contact centre services
Reinforces its leading role in business process outsourcing industry in Malaysia TM One, the business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) was recently awarded the international standard ISO 18295-1:2017 certification, making it the first Telco in Malaysia being awarded with the certification in Malaysia. The certification award was introduced by International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) in 2017, specifically on service requirements for customer contact centres (CCC). In Malaysia, the certification was conducted by the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) QAS International Sdn Bhd. Nizam Arshad, Vice President, Business Technology, TM One accepted the certificate from YB Dr. Ong Kian Ming, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry in the presence of Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali, Chairman of SIRIM. Commenting on the certification, Ir. Ts. Azizi A. Hadi, Executive Vice President, TM One said: “The ISO 18295-1:2017 certification marks another milestone for TM One. It is a testament of our expertise as well as dedication to constantly evolve and improve our processes and services to meet the highest international standards. This directly contributes to the increased efficiency of our contact centre operations thus providing greater confidence level to our clients. We will continue to strive for excellence in our contact center operations and reinforce our leading role in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry in Malaysia.” The ISO 18295-1:2017 qualification is applicable to both in-house and outsourced (third party operator) CCCs of all sizes, across all sectors and all interaction channels, including inbound and outbound. It specifies the performance metrics (in the form of Key Performance Indicators – KPIs) as and where required. To ensure preservation and compliance to the certification, TM One will continuously conduct its own internal audits on quarterly basis as well as a yearly external audit exercise. “For our customers, the certification means that they can be assured of the service level satisfaction and improved customer experience. TM One and Digital Johor empower Johor with JASS smart application
New digital platform for Johor towards achieving the State’s aspiration of ‘Bangsa Johor Bestari, Ke Arah Kehidupan Lestari’ Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) through TM One, its enterprise and public sector business solutions arm together with Digital Johor Sdn Bhd (Digital Johor), a subsidiary of Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd, today officially launched ‘Jendela Aplikasi Servis dan Solusi’ (JASS) smart application towards realising the State Government’s initiatives of Digitalising Johor. The mobile application was launched in conjunction with the opening ceremony of Johor International Islamic and Halal Festival 2019 held at Persada International Convention Centre, Johor Bahru, Johor. The opening ceremony of Johor International Islamic and Halal Festival 2019 and the launch of JASS was graced by YAB Dato’ Haji Osman Haji Sapian, Chief Minister of Johor. TM One unveils its latest state-of-the-art Klang Valley Core Data Centre
The new data centre completes TM One’s Twin Core Data Centre to serve Malaysia’s digital needs TM One, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), today officially unveiled its latest data centre – Klang Valley Core Data Centre (KVDC) in a tour session specially for members of the media. The KVDC, located at the global technology hub of Cyberjaya, completes TM One's Twin Core Data Centre after the launch of the Iskandar Puteri Core Data Centre (IPDC) in Nusajaya, Technology Park, Iskandar Puteri, Johor back in November 2017. Present at the event were Ir. Ts Azizi A. Hadi, Chief Executive Officer, TM One; Mohd Roslan Mohd Rashidi, Vice President, Sales, TM One; Nizam Arshad, Chief Technology Officer, TM Oneand TM One's management line-up. Speaking at the event, Ir. Ts.
