TM R&D wins Global Business Outlook Awards 2021 for its innovation, CAMELIA
The Company’s solution CAMELIA bagged the Most Innovative Digital Infrastructure Services Provider in Malaysia at UK-based Global Business Outlook Awards 2021
Telekom Research & Development Sdn Bhd (TM R&D), the innovation arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) recently bagged the Most Innovative Digital Infrastructure Services Provider in Malaysia for its solution called CAMELIA at the UK-based Global Business Outlook Awards 2021.
The award was conferred to TM R&D in recognition of its achievement for developing CAMELIA, which is set to become one of the digital transformation enablers for network operators to handle end-to-end processes for service assurance in TM.
Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Sharlene Thiagarajah, Chief Executive Officer, TM R&D said, “This is indeed a proud moment for us. Winning this award at the global front illustrates our continued commitment to develop solutions together with TM Group as part of our collaborative efforts to ensure the successful adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital innovations amongst our stakeholders.”

CAMELIA is an intelligent analytical platform that can provide the network’s health condition, fault diagnostics and localisation, and can predict potential service as well as line failure up to 30 days in advance.
In addition, CAMELIA provides early warning alerts that shall help to transform processors from a reactive based troubleshooting process to a proactive one with the goal of improved quality of service and faster incident resolution. As an enabler, CAMELIA integrates with other operating systems to monitor all subscriber lines 24 hours and provide early detection. Early filtration can isolate the problem whether it is at the physical network element layer or a service layer.

TM ONE REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO ENABLING MELAKA'S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ASPIRATIONS

This five-year collaboration integrates real-time data analytics, predictive insights, and public service tracking capabilities, enabling MPAG to monitor critical urban metrics, and gain insights on infrastructure management, public services, and environmental sustainability. This collaboration empowers Alor Gajah to enhance its public service responsiveness and create a more liveable environment, aligning with Melaka’s smart city development.” Transforming Water Management To modernise Melaka’s water management services, TM One was appointed by SAMB to provide Smart Workforce Solutions. Leveraging the Open Innovation Platform (OIP) and a range of digital tools including Workflow and Job Assignment Software, the solution enables efficient task allocation and tracking for improved metering, restoration, and contractor management. Customised workforce monitoring devices further provide real-time data capture and reporting from on-site locations, improving operational visibility and safety. Additionally, high-speed mobile connectivity supports communication and coordination, ensuring swift task completion and better service quality. TM AND ZTE MALAYSIA ENTER INTO A STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP TO DEVELOP NEXT-GENERATION TECH THROUGH HYBRID CLOUD 5G CORE NETWORK
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and ZTE (Malaysia) Corporation Sdn Bhd have entered into a new partnership to build a hybrid cloud 5G core network that is designed for future technologies and applications. Over the next three years, this strategic partnership will foster innovation and advancement of state-of-the-art technologies for TM’s 5G Core project, which includes bare metal containers, SDN-based architecture, hardware acceleration, CUPS, and 3-layer decoupling. Advancements in these technologies will propel the development of a converged, open, reliable, trusted and efficient 5G core network. This rollout is anticipated to transform and revolutionise the way that data will be processed and transmitted, which could significantly impact the development of future technologies and applications. Developing a high-capacity network will also address the rising need for network bandwidth and speed as Malaysia’s 5G adoption and ecosystem accelerates. The integration of this converged network will strengthen TM’s capabilities to provide seamless connectivity and exceptional network performance, serving a diverse range of industries, including healthcare, finance, transportation, and education. Additionally, the hybrid cloud 5G core network will aid in the growth of smart cities, Internet of Things (IoT), and other next-generation technologies that necessitate rapid, low-latency connectivity. TM REVOLUTIONISES DIGITAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES WITH NEXT GEN E-PHARMACY SOLUTION
CYBERJAYA, 14 MARCH 2024 – TM via its Unifi Business segment, today unveiled its latest digital business offering called the e-Pharmacy Solution, a mobile application that enables e-prescriptions via teleconsultation for pharmacists and their walk-in patients. Bundled with Unifi Business’ fixed broadband plans from 100Mbps up to 2Gbps, this offering in collaboration with Teleme Technologies, Malaysia’s leading telemedicine platform, includes access to over 500 licensed healthcare professionals for teleconsultation, e-prescriptions, customised Digital Signature, e-health articles and a repository for patients’ medical records. Harnessing TM’s networks and its approximately 600 nationwide Unifi Business consultants, the offering aims to help pharmacists dispense essential medications and pharmaceutical services, especially among rural and underserved communities. Through e-prescriptions, these communities will be able to access prescribed medications seamlessly, enhancing adherence and improving health outcomes. Launched by Minister of Communications YB Fahmi Fadzil, TM’s e-Pharmacy Solution aligns with the collaboration between the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS) during the Persidangan PEDi MADANI, to accelerate the digitalisation of healthcare services, and bridge the urban-rural gap in equitable access to quality healthcare. This offering is also eligible for the Government’s Geran Digital PMKS Madani (GDPM), ensuring pharmacists from the micro, small and medium enterprise segment (MSME) receive the support they need to embrace digitalisation and enable a more inclusive healthcare system for all Malaysians. Improved Patient Experience: Patients benefit from flexible access to essential prescribed medications, leading to better adherence and health outcomes, which is especially important among underserved or rural communities. Enhanced Medication Management: The application offers robust medication management tools, allowing pharmacists to monitor their inventory and send reminders to patients for medication refills. Secure Patient Management: The application prioritises patient privacy and data security, leveraging secure cloud infrastructure. Eligibility for Geran Digital PMKS Madani (GDPM): Eligible pharmacies will be entitled to claim Grant rebates up to 50% discounts off Unifi Business’ commercial package price for 12 months.
