​UMW IT Services Sdn. Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the UMW Group, today signed an agreement with TM One, the enterprise and public sector arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM”), to establish a collaboration on hybrid cloud.

The agreement signifies the next stage in UMW’s digital and transformation roadmap to consolidate and improve its current data centre architecture.  It will also complement the modernisation process of the Group’s various applications and supports its relentless efforts to optimise technology and operations across its Strategic Business Units.

The signatories of the agreement were Shahril Ariffin, Group Chief Transformation & Technology Officer, UMW Corporation Sdn. Bhd. and Shazurawati Abd Karim, Executive Vice President, TM One.  Witnessing the signing ceremony held at the TM Convention Centre were Dato’ Ahmad Fuaad Kenali, President & Group Chief Executive Officer, UMW Holdings Berhad and Imri Mokhtar, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM.

Dato’ Ahmad Fuaad Kenali remarked, “As the UMW Group progresses its transformation journey, it is pivotal that its information technology infrastructure and services are also upgraded to support the diverse needs of our businesses.  We are confident that this collaboration with TM One will lead to the optimisation of our data centre and our efficiency in managing data, improve scalability as well as offer better cost management.  In addition, hybrid cloud offers the UMW Group better flexibility, reliability, agility and improved data security to support the growth of our businesses.”

TM, PETRONAS AND GENTARI PARTNER TO DRIVE DIGITAL AND SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION FOR INDUSTRY AND NATION BUILDING

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 DECEMBER 2024 – TM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PETRONAS through its digital arm PETRONAS Digital Sdn Bhd (PDSB), and clean energy arm Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari), to drive digital transformation and sustainable innovation for industries and the nation. Under this collaboration, TM and PETRONAS will explore new revenue streams through the expansion of product offerings to enterprise and consumer markets, and drive growth and innovation through data centre, advanced cloud and connectivity for Malaysian businesses. The integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Internet of Things (IoT)-based solutions is expected to optimise city services, improve operational efficiency, and enhance public services, contributing to a smarter and more sustainable future. The MoU was exchanged between Megawati Norhashim, Vice President, Enterprise Business, TM One; Ts. Shaharuddin Hamid Mustapha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), PDSB; and Shah Yang Razalli, Deputy CEO & Chief Green Mobility Officer, Gentari; The exchange was witnessed by Shazurawati Abd Karim, Executive Vice President for TM One on behalf of TM; Ir. Mohd Yusri Mohamed Yusof, Senior Vice President, Project Delivery & Technology; and Izwan Ismail, Vice President of Group Technology & Commercialisation on behalf of PETRONAS and Gentari. TM and Telin collaborate to enable opportunities and enhanced experience for the region’s digital ecosystem

TM Wholesale, the wholesale domestic and international business arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and Telin, a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom), have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strategically collaborate and jointly explore opportunities on subsea cable business arrangements. The signing ceremony was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Dubai recently, where TM was represented by Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, Executive Vice President of TM Wholesale and Telin was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Budi Satria Dharma Purba (Budi). This new partnership will further strengthen the Business to Business (B2B) relationship between the two parties and broaden the collaboration while continuing to provide their customers with reliable, diversified and uninterrupted connectivity solutions. Commenting on the partnership, Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, Executive Vice President of TM Wholesale said, "TM Wholesale is committed to deliver greater reachability and resilient connectivity to our customers. This collaboration allows us to gain immediate submarine capacity in response to the growing demand for high bandwidth services. One (1) new positive Covid-19 case at TMpoint Taipan, Subang Jaya

TM has activated the necessary safety protocols; outlet closed for sanitisation until 29 December 2020 Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to confirm one (1) new positive case of COVID-19 amongst its employees at TMpoint Taipan, Subang Jaya on 23 December 2020. The employee is currently receiving treatment at a Government hospital. Following the confirmed case, the Company has taken immediate action to close the TMpoint Taipan outlet until 29 December 2020 for disinfection and sanitisation in accordance to the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health (MoH). Meanwhile, to ensure TM customers continue to be served, other TMpoint outlets remain in operations in adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as TM’s added safety guidelines. TM management and staff are together praying for the speedy recovery of all those affected by the pandemic. Meanwhile, detailed contact tracing is being carried out by the MoH, assisted by TM’s COVID-19 Crisis Response Team (CRT), to identify and inform those whom had close contact with the positive case. Identified close contacts are being contacted by MoH for further advice and action. TM would like to remind everyone at all times to stay safe – practice social distancing, maintain personal hygiene and adhere to the SOPs as advised by the Government. TM would like to reiterate that it has taken and will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the health and safety of its customers, employees and community.​
