YTM collaborated with PINTAR Foundation to contribute 60 refurbished laptops to underprivileged students under Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Bangsar/Pudu (PPDBP) to facilitate their online learning session.
In its continuous effort to ease the burden of underprivileged students during this unprecedented period, Yayasan TM (YTM), the foundation arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), together with PINTAR Foundation has reached out to the beneficiaries group under the #MYBAIKHATI initiative.
Through the collaboration, YTM contributed 60 units of refurbished laptops together with 15GB LTE unifi Mobile #BEBAS packages FREE for one (1) year to Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Bangsar/Pudu (PPDBP), Kuala Lumpur. Eligible students from 16 primary and secondary schools have been identified by PPDBP to receive the contribution.
When handing over the contribution, Izlyn Ramli, Director of YTM said: “We understand the critical need of good, workable devices and internet connection for Home-Based Learning and Teaching (PdPR) sessions in the new norm. Under the #MYBAIKHATI initiative, we have refurbished used laptops that we received from the kind and caring public. Coupled with our unifi Mobile #BEBAS data plan, we hope the identified students can have a better PdPR experience. TM through YTM will continue to pave the way for deserving students to have greater access to education as we believe no one should be left behind, especially in this digital age.”
Meanwhile commenting on this contribution, Tuan Hj Azuar Hj Hussin, Bangsar/Pudu District Education Officer said: "PPDBP would like to express our deepest appreciation to YTM and PINTAR Foundation. We believe this contribution would be invaluable to the recipients and facilitate their learning process in this very challenging period. We hope more corporates will come forth and provide their support to fulfil the needs of these underprivileged students.”
TM is supporting the #MYBAIKHATI initiative, an industry-wide device crowdsourcing initiative aimed to collect and repair used communication devices to be distributed to low-income families (B40). TM has set up six (6) of its TMpoint outlets in the Klang Valley as collection points to facilitate the donation drive. The outlets are TM Experience Centre (TMEC) at Menara TM, Bangsar; TMpoint Cyberjaya, TMpoint Shah Alam, TMpoint Setapak, TMpoint Bukit Raja and TMpoint Taman Desa.
To further encourage the public to donate their used smart devices, TM has partnered with realme, a smartphone manufacturer, where realme has allocated 300 realme vouchers worth RM50 each for individuals who contribute their used devices. They can then use the vouchers to purchase any realme devices at realme Official Store on Shopee.

TM's decision to exit menara KL concession
Telekom Malaysia Berhad ("TM" or "the Group") wishes to clarify that Menara KL ("MKL" or "Tower") is owned by the Government while the operations and maintenance of the tower is granted under a concession. TM via its wholly owned subsidiary, Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn. Bhd. (MKLSB) had undertaken the concession since 1996. As part of its business transformation programme, TM is focusing its efforts and resources on strengthening its core business of telecommunications and technology. After due consideration on the change in the business nature of MKL, from telecommunications services to tourism and hospitality, TM has decided in October 2021 not to renew the MKL concession and informed the Government accordingly. Subsequently in 2022, the selection process of the new Concessionaire was then taken up by the Government upon which TM was informed on the appointed company to take over the shares of MKLSB and the MKL concession. MKLSB shall continue to operate the concession and ensure the continuity of MKL operations for the Malaysian public, including international visitors. Employees will remain employed with MKLSB under the new Concessionaire for a minimum period of 3 years. This is to ensure their welfare is protected in this transition. In TM’s 3Q 2022 financial announcement to Bursa Malaysia, a reference was made in the subsequent changes to shareholding in MKLSB. TM practices good governance and transparency in our business undertakings to preserve the interest of our customers and stakeholders. YAYASAN TM’s ‘PROGRAM CAHAYA RAMADAN’ CONTINUES TO BRING JOY TO THE LESS FORTUNATE COMMUNITIES
KUALA LUMPUR, 22 March 2024 – TM, through its social foundation arm, Yayasan TM (YTM), announces the continuation of its ‘Program Cahaya Ramadan’. This year, the programme allocates RM320,000 to aid approximately 3,000 beneficiaries across Malaysia, including asnaf, orphans, B40 families, single mothers, Persons with Disabilities (PWD), tahfiz students, and the Orang Asli community. The initiative, mobilised through our state offices nationwide, focuses on distributing food baskets and raya essential items such as baju raya and duit raya (cash) to the identified beneficiaries during Ramadan. Ainol Shaharina Sahar, Director of Yayasan TM said, “It is our honour to once again initiate the ‘Program Cahaya Ramadan’, extending our hand in solidarity to those in need during this reflective and benevolent time of year. Our goal is to alleviate the hardships of our beneficiaries, ensuring they too can share in the joy and togetherness that Ramadan brings. FAM - TM Jalin Semula Kerjasama Strategik Sebagai Rakan Rasmi Teknologi
Persatuan Bolasepak Malaysia (FAM) meneruskan jalinan kerjasama dengan Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) di mana syarikat telekomunikasi terkemuka negara itu menjadi Rakan Rasmi Teknologi bagi FAM dan pasukan kebangsaan, Harimau Malaya untuk tempoh setahun bermula Jun 2023 ini. Perjanjian itu juga menjadi bukti komitmen tinggi TM terhadap pembangunan sukan bola sepak negara di mana syarikat tersebut telah terlibat secara langsung dalam industri bola sepak tempatan sepanjang dua dekad yang lalu.
