OUM and TM One sign Memorandum of Understanding to establish hyperconnected digital ecosystem
TM One Hyperconnected Ecosystem provides end-to-end digital solutions that enable Education 4.0 for Malaysian higher learning institutions
TM One, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), today inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Open University Malaysia (OUM) to establish a digital transformation journey for the university’s campus in Kuala Lumpur.
The agreement was signed by Ahmad Taufek Omar, Executive Vice President/Chief Executive Officer, TM One and Prof. Dato’ Dr Mansor Fadzil, President/Vice-Chancellor, OUM.
The MoU is aimed at delivering and implementing four (4) clusters of digital transformation initiatives for OUM encompassing mobile connectivity via unifi Mobile packages for students and administration staff; smart services solution - Smart Campus Management, scalable ICT solutions via TM cloud services; and TM One Collaboration tools for unified communication Solutions for OUM administration and its students.
Speaking at the event, Ahmad Taufek said, “This MoU marks the beginning of a synergy between TM One and OUM for more future collaborations. The potential areas may encompass beyond the four clusters to help create greater value for OUM to remain competitive in the education industry. The solutions will enable OUM to optimise its operational costs and improve its energy efficiency. We hope these smart solutions will also encourage more engagement and interactions between the OUM campus community, whilst providing enhanced students’ and visitors’ experience at OUM. Our Hyperconnected Ecosystem offers advanced digital solutions for educational institutions in Malaysia to embark on their digital transformation. As an enabler of Malaysia’s Digital Nation aspirations, TM through TM One, will continue to play an active role in nation building, particularly in the education sector.”
Meanwhile, Prof Dato’ Dr Mansor said, “This collaboration will provide many advantages, especially for learners and staff in our 33 Learning Centres nationwide. Because a significant portion of learning takes place online, the unifi MobileTM plans offered at such competitive rates will make it easy for learners to access their course materials, interact with facilitators and peers as well as keep track of their studies via the learning management system, myINSPIRE, without needing to worry about WiFi availability, no matter where they may be.”
Through this collaboration, TM One will be offering unifi Mobile corporate package for OUM employees and students at RM59 per month.

TM ONE-USIM COLLABORATION TO ENHANCE UNIVERSITY’S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND IMPROVE DIGITAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES
TM One, the business-to-business arm of TM, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) for a strategic partnership to enhance the university’s digital transformation and improve student experiences in digital learning. Officiated on 6 March, the MOU was signed by Professor Dato’ Dr. Sharifudin Md. Shaarani, Vice Chancellor of USIM and Shazurawati Abd Karim, Executive Vice President, TM One. To support USIM’s smart innovation journey, the partnership will be anchored on three (3) pillars, namely: the co-creation of an innovation ecosystem, talent development, and the sharing of insights on higher education and business trends – with the goal of developing USIM into a smart university. Developing these pillars will allow USIM to pave its way towards a more seamless digital learning experience and improve its student experience processes. This includes online examinations, IT integration, security of sensitive data and intellectual property, smart solutions on campus, and end-to-end mobility solutions. Most importantly, this partnership will enable a more collaborative learning approach between USIM’s faculty and students, aligning the university to the needs of today’s global learners. TM collaborates with Bintang Urusjuta for the first digital home in Melaka
Taman Anjung Gapam becomes the first digital home in Melaka with move-in ready unifi and digital home services Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) through its enterprise and public sector business solutions arm, TM ONE and a local property developer, Bintang Urusjuta (M) Sdn Bhd today launched their first Digital Home project in Melaka at Taman Anjung Gapam. The development is the first housing project in Melaka that is ready with various digital home solutions. At the same event, TM ONE and Bintang Urusjuta also signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the appointment of TM ONE as the strategic partner for the deployment of digital home solutions at Taman Anjung Gapam. With the deployment, Taman Anjung Gapam Melaka now has been recognised as the first housing project in Melaka to enjoy the digital home through high-speed broadband connectivity. The agreement was signed by Ahmad Taufek Omar, Chief Executive Officer, TM ONE while Bintang Urusjuta (M) Sdn Bhd was represented by Yeow Ho Lock, its Managing Director. The ceremony was witnessed by YAB Adly Zahari, Chief Minister of Melaka. Also present at the event were YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Communications and Multimedia; YB Kerk Chee Yee, Exco Communication, Multimedia, NGOs, Youth Development and Sports of Melaka; and Tuan Haji Rosli Man, Chairman of TM. With the launch today, Anjung Gapam housing project is now equipped with digital home services through unifi's high-speed broadband connectivity. This digital home services will enable home owners of Anjung Gapam to enjoy high speed internet access, along with other digital services such as unifi TV, Digital Home Hub, Security Warning System, Smart Plug and Sensor Movement through its dedicated digital application. The implementation of this digital home by TM is in line with Malaysia's Digital Nation aspiration. Besides digital homes, TM is also ready to implement other digital solutions such as traffic management system, street light system, city wide surveillance system and parking system." Meanwhile, Yeow Ho Lock said, "The successful establishment of digital home Anjung Gapam, is in-line with the intention of the state government to make Melaka as a Smart City by 2030. In addition, digital home Anjung Gapam helps to raise buyers' standard of living towards a digital lifestyle in line with our slogan "Enriching Lifestyle the Smart Way". Under the MoA, residents of Anjung Gapam will enjoy broadband connectivity at the speed of 30Mbps and above by early November 2019. This offering includes the new 'Pay Nothing' campaign, where all new unifi subscribers will enjoy three (3) months free subscription starting 1 October until 31 December 2019. In Melaka, unifi is currently available in Bandar Melaka, Ayer Keroh, Ayer Molek, Bemban, Bertam, Klebang, Kuala Sg. Baru, Malim, Masjid Tanah, Merlimau, Simpang Ampat, Tangga Batu and Umbai.
