Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) via its enterprise and public sector business solutions arm, TM One, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam), for the appointment of TM One as the preferred digital partner in realising Bank Islam’s transformational strategy.

The MoU was signed by Mohamed Iran Moriff Mohd Shariff, Chief Operating Officer of Bank Islam and Ahmad Taufek Omar, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of TM One.

Commenting on the collaboration, Ahmad Taufek said, “We are honoured to be given the opportunity to extend our digital expertise to Bank Islam. We are fully aware that digital transformation, data security and protection are the top priority, especially for the banking sector. This provides the best digital experience to their customers, particularly in these times where digital transactions are increasing exponentially. With this agreement in place, we can provide Bank Islam with the latest and secured digital solutions and infrastructure to support its transformation journey. Solutions such as cloud, cybersecurity and big data analytics will drive Bank Islam’s process optimisation, enabling omni-channel and data monetisation agenda, leading to cost optimisation and productivity uplift.”

The collaboration between both parties is aimed at further exploring TM One’s role in becoming the primary digital solutions provider to Bank Islam for digital infrastructures such as data centre and Cloud α (Alpha) services, as well as big data analytics and cyber-security solutions. These solutions will intensify Bank Islam’s IT infrastructure and Centre for Digital Experience (CDX) digital banking products, by allowing new buying experience, away from the traditional banking approach.

This partnership combines the strength of both companies that will pave the way to accelerate Bank Islam’s transformational strategy.

TM and Cybersecurity Malaysia join forces to strengthen national cyberspace resilience

Both companies will leverage each other’s expertise, technical capabilities and global best practices to create a safer and more robust cyber ecosystem. TM ONE REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO ENABLING MELAKA'S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ASPIRATIONS

KUALA LUMPUR & MELAKA, 30 DECEMBER 2024 – TM One, TM’s enterprise and government sector solutions arm, has reinforced its commitment to enabling Melaka’s digital and sustainable development through various collaborations with local agencies. Working with Majlis Perbandaran Alor Gajah (MPAG) and Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (SAMB), TM One is deploying digital solutions to support the state’s economic growth, public services, and aspirations to become a model smart city. TM One also recently welcomed Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh, Melaka’s Chief Minister, to the TM Response Centre Melaka, one of three facilities that supports emergency responses across Malaysia. The Centre is staffed by over 150 personnel who manage emergency response calls 24/7, ensuring quality control, technical support, and data management. Handling over a million calls every month, the Centre serves as a critical national infrastructure that connects citizens with emergency responders, reinforcing public safety and security. Leveraging the Open Innovation Platform (OIP) and a range of digital tools including Workflow and Job Assignment Software, the solution enables efficient task allocation and tracking for improved metering, restoration, and contractor management. Customised workforce monitoring devices further provide real-time data capture and reporting from on-site locations, improving operational visibility and safety. Additionally, high-speed mobile connectivity supports communication and coordination, ensuring swift task completion and better service quality. Shazurawati concluded, “Our partnership with SAMB highlights the transformative power of technology in essential services, improving efficiency through swift, coordinated responses to critical tasks. By digitalising workforce operations, we are enabling SAMB to improve operational resilience and elevate service standards for the people of Melaka.”

JASS smart application from TM one set to empower Johor 4.0 initiatives

New digital platform for Bangsa Johor towards achieving the State’s aspiration of ‘Membina Dekad Baharu’ TM ONE, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) Group, today officially unveiled Johor Application Solution and Services Hub (JASS) smart application towards realising the State Government’s Johor 4.0 initiatives. The unveiling of the smart application took place at the Johor 4.0: Digitalising Bangsa Johor launch event held at the Indoor Arena, EduCity Sports Complex, Nusajaya, Johor. The launching ceremony of Johor 4.0 and unveiling of JASS was graced by YAB Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Chief Minister of Johor. Also present were YB Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Tun Said Keruak, Minister of Communication and Multimedia, Azizi A Hadi, Executive Vice President / Chief Executive Officer, TM ONE and Ahmad Nasri Mohamed, State Vice President, TM Johor. Johor 4.0 is the State Government’s initiative to position Johor as the southern economic powerhouse.
